The most wonderful time of the year...

The past month & a half has been very busy so there has not been much time to keep the blog updated. So sorry for this loooooong update. Here it goes...

I had surgery on my legs the middle of November to close of some veins & remove varicose veins. It was a little bit more uncomfortable than I imagined. But all is well now & my legs feel much better.

We went back to IN to celebrate Thanksmas with our families (Thanksgiving-Christmas). Unfortunately, we had some bumps in the road. My mom was sick & ended up in the hospital for 4 days so the Bucher Thanksmas was not as we had planned but my mom is feeling much better & for that we are all very thankful. Savannah & I stayed in IN for an extra 12 days while Matt did major remodeling on our guest bathroom & downstairs. We were hoping to see & spend a little time with more friends & family but I got sick & then Savannah got sick so those plans were put on hold.

Savannah & I were excited to get back to Matt & Izzy but the weather had other plans. We got the last plane out of Fort Wayne & had a connection in Chicago O'Hare but missed our flight by 9 minutes because of all the delays. Since nearly every flight was delayed & many people missed their flights the lines were crazy. By the time we got confirmed seats on the first flight out the next morning, it was late & the shuttles for the hotel was about an hour to an hour & a half wait. Which meant that we would be at the hotel for about 2.5 hours so Savannah & I camped out in O'Hare. Savannah slept better than I thought, so for that I was very grateful. I am also very, very grateful for the many people that helped me carry my bags & stroller & offered a helping hand to a very tired mommy. Midwestern people are truly great!

It's been busy, busy here since we got home. Savannah had her family holiday party at her toddler class. It was great because Matt was able to experience Savannah at class with her friends & meet some other dads.

We went to see the Macy's display downtown last weekend & Santa. Savannah loved the display but not Santa. She screamed & would not sit on his lap so we had to do a family picture. Matt & I were really happy about that:-). Seriously we were... We are Christmas freaks so we were like 5 year olds that got to sit by Santa. We know Savannah will come around--maybe next year.

Savannah & I got to watch Milo, the baby boy of Matt's boss, twice this past week. Savannah learned that not all babies are dolls & they don't have an off button to make them stop crying. She did great with him. She loved getting all of his toys & bottles for me & petting his head:-).

On Friday, we went to the Holidazzle Parade downtown. Last year Savannah slept through the whole thing but this year was not the same. She was not having the cold & there was not enough activity to keep her attention. We left after 4 floats because she was screaming like a crazy baby. I am sure the people around us were happy we left.

We are looking forward to the next 2 weeks. Matt has from the 23rd to the end of the year off!! It will be nice to spend some time together & enjoy Christmas at home. Then we are going to FL with Matt for his National Sales Meeting after New Years. Yippy warmer weather:-) My dad is coming up the last week in December to help Matt finsih off our 4th level in our house & we are very excited to have the help.

If you haven't noticed we are doing a lot of remodeling. We are hoping to get our house on the market Feb. 1st. Our hope is for our house to sell so we move back to the Warsaw area by summer 2010. However, with the market as bad as it is; we don't know what will happen. So we could use your prayers that our house sells quickly & for the right price so we can move back to IN.

Below are many pictures from the past 2 months. Next weekend I will be posting pictures of the new bathroom & keep everyone updated on the lower level as it comes together.

Have a safe & Merry Christmas!!

Matt, Jeri, Savannah, & Izzy

Is it Fall or Winter? And where did Summer go...?

The leaves, temperature, & snow all fell in October; thankfully, this weekend we are suppose to get one last glimmer of warmth before the nasty, arctic MN winter begins. This past weekend we had to get the leaves cleaned up in the yard & we had some help from Savannah. She was not sure in the beginning but by the end she was throwing leaves in the air saying "weeee."

Savannah has had a pretty big week, actually an extremely exciting month. Thanks to her friend Ethan that visited last weekend--he showed her how big kids go down the stairs and climb. She can now go up & down the stairs like a pro & that's all she wants to do all day. She can also climb up on the couch--well anything that is couch height & get down safely. She also added a few new words to her vocabulary: Santa which she says "sa-TA" notice the emphasis on TA, bubbles, gobble-gobble for turkey, & night-night. Matt & I just keep looking at each other everyday & saying "holy cow, did she just..." fill in the blank with say, climb, throw, kick, etc. This past month she has also got 3 more teeth--2 of which are molars!!! The other 2 molars are about to break through, so needless to say she has had some cranky moments. Daylight Savings time has really messed up our house. We just got on an awesome schedule & then the time change. I hated Daylight Savings before I had Savannah & now I REALLY hate it. Slowly we are getting back to "normal." Haha--even as I type that I know I better knock on wood, cross my fingers, & say a little prayer---here's to hoping.

Just thought everyone would like to see the fall pictures of Savannah. Hope everyone is having a great week & we will see many of you in just 15 short day:-)

Love,

Matt, Jeri, & Savannah

happy halloween

Here is a link to the remaining pics from San Diego & our trip to NYC. Also, are a few of Savannah & her hunky football player from Halloween:-). We have busy travelers over the past 2 1/2 weeks, but we have had a lot of fun. Thankfully, Savannah is an excellent traveler on the plane. She either sleeps or entertains the other people on the plane:-). Which makes Mommy & Daddy very happy.

Thankfully, we are all home for the next three weeks. Then we are coming to IN for the week of Thanksgiving. Can you believe that it is almost Nov?!! This year has just gone so fast. So we will see many of you in a few weeks.

Enjoy the new pictures!

San Diego Fun

We have been in warm, sunny San Diego since Saturday & we are loving it. Savannah did great on the plane. She slept 2.5 hours and made friends with everyone around us. We landed early in the afternoon so we just got settled in to our hotel, got groceries, & started relaxing. Sunday we went downtown San Diego to the Gaslamp district. There was a car show so it was fun to walk around & look at old and new high end cars.

Monday started our theme park adventures at the San Diego Zoo. We spent the first half of the day at the zoo & then came back to the hotel for a nap. Yep we all needed one. Then we went to Matt's favorite Mexican restaurant. It was great after not having any Mexican food for almost a year. Tuesday we went to the Wild Animal Park for the first part of the day. This was so much fun. We took a Safari ride to see the animals. That night we went to La Jolla to take a stroll on the beach & then went to the best little pizza place. Wednesday was all about Sea World. We spent the entire day there & it was my favorite:-). I feed the seals--they were hungry pups. We watched a show called Pets Rule which made our dog look like a wild animal--sorry Izzy but true. Savannah loved this. She kept pointing & squealing. I think her mouth was open the entire time. We also watched the seal show--we gave it a C. Not enough action for our little one. We also went to a special 4-D Elmo movie. Savannah loved it until they sprayed water right in her face then the fun was over & it looked like Daddy wet his pants. The last thing we did at Sea World was watch the Shamu show. Again Savannah LOVED it. We think that she was channeling her Aunt Sarah:-) After that long day we ate a quick bite, took a dip in the hot tub because the pools were freezing & then lights out.

The rest of the week is suppose to be very warm so we are spending it at the beach. Below is the link to our pictures so far. We hope you enjoy Savannah discover & learn as much as we did...

Enjoy!

Our little pumpkin is 1!!

It's hard to believe but Savannah is 1! This year has gone by so quick & we have loved every minute of seeing Savannah grow into a toddler. Ahh that's a little scary to say:-).

Savannah woke up all smiles on her birthday & so did I because I was not in a hospital bed in pain. But all the pain & discomfort was sure worth our little girl. Savannah had a fun day "playing" while mommy & daddy worked to get the food, house, & cake ready for her big celebration. We had everything set up outside but the weather decided that it had other plans for our party. At 3:30 the Kansas wind as I like to call it started & 40 mile an hour winds & rain changed the party from outside to inside. We had our neighbors, friends, & cousins here to help Savannah celebrate turning 1! Everyone was anxious to see her dig into her cake except daddy:-). Matt kept saying lets cut it in little pieces but he was out voted by the crowd. Savannah wasn't to sure about cake--pretty much she smashed it. She didn't even take a bite but I say prolong the sugar intake for as long as possible:-). Savannah also was able to meet her cousin Hayley & loved Hayley. She just wanted to keep giving her hugs & kisses it was soooo cute. It was great that Nate, Kristi, Kim, & Hayley were able to join us.

The past month has been pretty busy for us. We went to the State Fair with our friends so that was a day full of eating & walking. Then both Savannah & I were sick with a cold--not fun. Matt has been to Chicago twice & then a very, very short (40hrs) trip to Europe when he was really sick with the flu. Which I got the day he left--we are hoping we got it all out of the way before flu season. Savannah & I started our ECFE class & MOPS. We are really excited to meet some new people & have some playtime with other kids.

The weather has made the switch & I don't know if it is the start of winter or fall. We are suppose to get our first frost this week--boo! I know that the white stuff will be flying soon but I was hoping by some miracle summer would stay just a little longer. Oh well, we are excited to see Savannah play in the snow & waddle around in her snowsuit:-)

The next two weeks we are getting ready for VACATION!! We are going to San Diego, CA & are very excited to have some downtime. I know we will have lots of pictures when we get back:-)

We hope all is well with everyone & we will see some of you in Nov. Have a great week & stay warm!

Attached are pictures of her birthday party & our trip to the state fair earlier this month. Enjoy!
