8 months old
Savannah is 8 months old!! Wow!! Last year at this time we had just found out that we were expecting a baby girl. Pretty crazy. This month Savannah "graduated" from her ECFE Baby Class. She has also had her first boo-boos. She loves to try to climb and walk but just isn't there yet; which results in her head crashing into many surfaces. So we have got the looks at the store like "oh my gosh what did you do to your kid." If they only knew you can't keep this kid still:-)
Savannah is still teething--NOT FUN for anyone. You can see the bumps for 4 teeth on the bottom & 4 on the top. We are just praying that these come in quickly because they have been causing trouble for over a month. It is bad when your kid knows the orajel & Motrin bottle. This hasn't slowed down her appetite. She LOVES eating bananas, Ritz wheat crackers, watermelon, crescent rolls, & wheat toast. However, she likes sharing with Izzy.
Matt and I started renovating our guest bathroom last weekend. Right now it is completely gutted to the studs in some places and is done to the concrete floor. We are looking forward to hopefully getting some tiled laid within the next week or so but we will see. Everything is just a bit harder with a little one. We have got all of our flowers & veggies planted. Savannah loves to try to eat the blooms & she loves to smell the mint & basil:-)
Next month Savannah starts some new classes. Saturdays she is going to swim lessons with daddy and on Thursdays she has baby story time. The story time is a great class that our library provides for free in the summer for babies to elementary age kids--it will be great to meet some more parents in our community.
That is about it for now from MN. We will be in IN on a very brief visit for Katie & Drew's wedding so we will post some pics from that when we return. Enjoy the pictures & see some of you in about a weeek!

My 1st Mother's Day
This past weekend was my first official Mother's Day:-)!! It also has been exactly 1 year since we moved to MN. Wow--time has flown by. We had a great weekend just enjoying being at home. I am lucky to have a great husband that made the day very special. We had a great day of grilling, cleaning up the basement & windows, organizing for the neighborhood garage sale next weekend, and a long walk around one of the lakes by our house. I know most moms wouldn't get excited about cleaning on Mother's Day but I am an odd duck:-) It is nice to just relax at home and take it all in:-). Oh I almost forgot--Matt's present was getting our 1st family pics taken:-) So at the end of June we will have some professional pictures of the 4 of us!
Savannah is changing daily. She is talking away. She can say dada, baba, bob(we don't know where that came from), mama(just on Sat. good timing), and Izz(yes the dog came before mama-haha). It is very cute:-) She also loves giving kisses so sweet especially when she trys to give them to Izzy. Savannah is also pulling herself up and standing---yes we know what comes next. She loves to walk while holding onto your fingers and she can really move--we are in for a fun summer:-). She has reached a lot of milestones within the last 2 weeks--everyday we wake up we wonder what she will show us today. It is so exciting to see her grow and change but a little sad because it is all happening so fast.
Below is a link for some of the newest pics. We have had our first trip to the park and she loved the swings:-) Enjoy the pics and have a great week!!

Easter Time!
Savannah had a lot of visitors this past week. First Grandma Purdy came and then over the weekend Aunt Katie and Uncle Drew visited. Grandma Purdy gave us a much needed night out. It was great to be able to slowly eat dinner and not worry about a Savannah melt down:-) Drew helped Matt build a bench in the lower level. This is great because we have a lot of seating and storage for Savannah's toys. We have a few of Grandma Purdy's pictures(email her if you would like all of them--they are really great:-)) and pictures from Easter & the bench building project.
Savannah is growing like crazy. She is talking more and making her "B", "G", and "TH" sounds. She also is on the move. We wouldn't call it crawling but she is hopping around the house. Her legs are stronger than her arms so she just frog jumps to her destination:-) Very cute but makes our stomaches hurt. She is also drinking from a sippy cup, feeding herself (loves her sweet potato Gerber puffs), and can drink from a water bottle(her favorite thing to do right now).
Enjoy the pictures and we will see some of you on our trip back to IN on the 24th-26th.

Lessons I've Learned in my 6 months...
I was so cute....
...Wait. I still am-hehe:-)

...Wait. I still am-hehe:-)Savannah wanted to share with you a few life lessons she has learned in her 6 months...
Today I am 6 months old that means only 6 more months until the big cake! Mommy and Daddy took me back to that place where you get poked. The doctor said I was a very healthy little girl. I weighed 14 pounds and 13 ounces. Here is the best part I am 26 1/2" long--that puts me in the 75 percentile for my height but looking at Mommy and Daddy well you have seen them. The doctor also said I was so healthy that I didn't have to go back for 3 months good thing I got that cold under control. Lesson #1--The doctor is the nice guy and the nurse is the one that is mean. All I get are funny band aids--I want the lolly pop--that is why I have been working so hard on these teeth. Yes, I said teeth. I have 2 on the bottom and the doctor said he could see the 2 on the top and it won't be long--maybe next visit I will get the lolly pop.
Mommy and Daddy can't believe how big I am and they keep saying "its seems like only yesterday you were born and a little baby." I have been working very hard on my big girl skills. I have learned how to sit up all by myself. It is a lot easier to see your toys and play. I am working really hard on crawling but just haven't figured it out yet. Some how I just go backwards--so complicated. Plus it is easier and much more fun to roll. Lesson #2--don't roll on a full tummy it doesn't always turn out well. I also have been eating all my fruits and veggies so I can get big & strong so I can finally catch that dog. Lesson #3--the doggie does NOT taste good--so don't try licking one stick to your fruits and veggies. Also don't try the carpet--yucky.
Mommy and I go to school every week. It is fun to see my friends and swap stories. Lesson #4--mommies & daddies think it is cute when you talk to each other but what they don't know is we are sharing information like did you know that you can fake cry. Yep--that was a valuable lesson. We have made a few really good friends from class. We get together every week at the mall or at a friend's house to play. Lesson #5--mommy thinks she has me fooled but I know that it is really her play date too, but I play along.
My favorite thing to do besides eatings is listening to my music with Mommy and Daddy on that little thing called an iPod--I don't know about that but it does put out some good tunes. Mommy and Daddy are really bad dancers and singers but hey it is cheap entertainment and they try. My favorite song is 5 Little Monkeys by Go Fish. My friend Zain told me about them. You should check them out--they will make you smile:-) We usually have a dance party every night when Daddy gets home.
Daddy and I have been working on playing catch. Daddy throws the block and I try hard to catch it but these crazy arms sometimes have a mind of their own. It has been nice that Daddy has been home for a few weeks and we have lots of time to play. Lesson #6--if I give Daddy a big smile I can get away with anything--hopefully this one lasts for awhile:-)
Well that's about all--my crib is calling. A growing girl needs her naps. They gives me energy to wear mommy and daddy out--I hate it when I have to get up in the middle of the night just to make sure they are okay:-)
Savannah has changed so much in the last six months, and we can't wait to see everything that she learns in the next six months. We are truly blessed to have such a healthy, active, & strong little girl. We have learned a lot of lessons from her patience, a new kind of love that no one can describe, and how the simplest thing in life like seeing your child smile in the morning is better than anything else. We will post after Easter with some pics of Savannah and her goodies from the big bunny and of course her cute Easter dress:-) Stay healthy and safe and hopefully we will all have Spring soon.

Another tooth
Savannah's second tooth has popped up! Now she doesn't look like a one toothed hilly-billy baby--that is what Matt liked to call her:-) Hopefully, we will get a little rest from teething. It has really made sleeping a challenge. Here are a few pics...
She loves her toes...

Being a goofy girl-this is before the second tooth so you can't see it
Daddy gave her a baby-mohawk

Matt deep in thought about installing the baby gates...
P.S. It is going to be 62 here today--that is ABOVE ZERO!!!! Spring!!

A week of firsts...
Savannah is 5 months old!! It is hard to believe that last year at this time Matt & I were looking at houses in MN and wondering if we were going to have a boy or a girl. It is amazing how fast the past year has gone.
The past week has been very eventful for our little pumpkin. Last Monday Savannah's first tooth popped up on the lower left side. The lower right side is working its way to the surface, so probably later this week our little girl will have 2 teeth:-). This is making her not nap as well but thankfully she is sleeping well at night. So we will take what we can get. We will miss her gummy smile but we also think this one is pretty cute. Savannah also graduated to the next size bath tub. It is a big yellow ducky that quacks--too cute. Izzy really didn't know what to think about the quacking, but Savannah seemed to like it.
Matt & I have begun the process of baby proofing the house. If any of you have seen Baby Mama then you will appreciate the toilet seat safety bar and the door stops. Pretty much our house is Jeri proofed too because I am not smart enough to remember they are there or figure them out--pretty darn funny. Savannah is starting to scoot/wiggle. She puts her butt up in the air and pushes her body forward. She hasn't yet learned that your arms are there to help you move. It is pretty cute but she get frustrated fast.
Like everyone else we changed time this week. Savannah adjusted better than us. It is nice to have more daylight in the evening but I am not going to lie the mornings are horrible. Plus I hate resetting all the clocks. Oh well, it means that spring and summer are closer and for me it could not come soon enough.
The link to the lasted pictures is below. We tried to get a picture of her little tooth but that was a little harder than we thought so you will have to use your imagination. Have a great week!!
