Oh Christmas Tree

We celebrated our 1st Christmas with Savannah this past weekend. Savannah didn't really know what was going on but it was cute to see her reaction to her new toys. The link at the bottom has pictures of her and Izzy enjoying their Christmas presents.

This week is a busy one. Matt is traveling to Colorado Springs (Mon-Tues) and San Antonio (Tues-Thurs) for shoulder surgeries with some important doctors. Hopefully, the weather cooperates and he can make it out. The weather here has brought me out of denial. Yes, I am in MN during the winter and yes, it is crazy cold. Yesterday we had ice and snow. Today we have just cold and strong winds. It is a high of 1 today and a wind chill of -20. The news said we set a record low for this time of the year--of course, our first winter and we get record lows right out of the gate.

We are also getting ready to come home for Christmas. There is so much to pack when you are bringing a baby and a dog--not to mention yourself. We will be leaving on Friday night if the weather cooperates. If not we will be heading out when the snow clears. We will be in IN for little over a week so we can celebrate with both sets of grandparents.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and have a very Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Savannah is now 2 months old! I can't believe it. She is really growing fast. Last Wednesday she had her 2 month check up. Unfortunately, that meant she had to get shots--4 to be exact. She took them pretty well. Just a little bit of crying but nothing too bad. I was more afraid that I was going to cry and pass out. I hate needles so Matt went with us to make sure that Savannah had a strong parent present. Other than the shots it was a good check up. She weighs 10 pounds 4 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long. She has gained 4 lbs and grown 3 1/2 inches since she was born. The doctor said she is a very healthy little girl and she doesn't have to go back until 4 months when she gets more shots:-( The visit pretty much took it out of her. She slept most of the day, but I think she was just resting up for Turkey Day:-)

Our first Thanksgiving with Savannah was amazing. Matt, Savannah, Izzy, and I watched the entire Macy's Parade. The first time that Matt and I had watched the entire parade. I say Savannah watched but she mostly napped. However, she was awake for the most important part--Santa's arrival. Again, Matt and I were way more excited than her. It was great to spend some quality time together and just relax--the food was good too:-) Matt and I have been eating turkey since Thursday--he is sick of it but I think I could eat it everyday until Christmas. Thankfully, for Matt it is almost gone.

Most of our long weekend was spent relaxing and finishing up projects and fixing random things in our house that broke--like our dryer. We are not after Thanksgiving shoppers. All of those people drive me nuts so we stayed clear of the malls. On Saturday night we went downtown to watch the Minneapolis Holidazzle Parade. It was various floats like the nutcracker, wizard of oz, etc all lit up. The parade runs every Thurs-Sun until Christmas. It was really neat and great for kids. Again, Savannah slept through the whole thing. She woke up in the elevator on the way back to our car:-) While we were watching the parade we meet people that were visiting family and they were from Plymouth, IN. We thought that was pretty crazy and it was nice to hear Hoosiers not the Canadian accent:-)

Below is the link to the pics from the parade and our weekend. Enjoy and for some of you we will see you this weekend!
