Belly button, bath, & bedtime
**If Savannah could talk, here is what she would have said about today...
It all started at 3:30 am when daddy changed my diaper. He was all excited and talking about a cute belly button--like I know what that is. He told mommy I lost my cord and I thought oh no only 2 weeks old and I am already falling apart.
After a few more feedings and some sleepy time we all got ready and went to church but I don't remember much after the car ride--I was very sleepy. The next thing I knew I was in a big place with lots of strange smells and sounds. Mommy said I was on the first date out with just her and daddy at Friday's but I thought it was Sunday...so much to learn.
Finally, we were at home again. Izzy was so excited to see us--that dog must think that I taste good because she is always giving me licks. With a nice nap & a full belly I was ready to play. Daddy and I went surfing on my surf board. I really wanted to play with my lobster so I made my way to the red little guy--I could see him getting closer and yep I did it everyone--I ROLLED OVER! Daddy and mommy were shocked--you see they still think I am a little girl. Little do they know I am growing everyday. It is exhausting but hey the naps are good.
Since I had such a big morning I decided that I needed to take a little nap. Mommy and daddy tried to take a nap but I figured that everybody sleeping in the middle of the day was just crazy, so I worked it out so everybody was up & ready to play. That is what I do best.
The evening was just as eventful. I had a few vistors, Ken & Cheryl, our neighbors from across the street. I really wasn't in the mood but hey they brought gifts. **See the picture of me cuddling with my new best friend.**
It just got better as the night went on. Daddy and mommy were so excited about a big girl bath. I was thinking that I was just going to be cold and wet, but I guess since my cord fell off--which I realized is a good thing--I got to be in a big warm tub of soapy water. Mommy and daddy were happy--the big flashy thing never stopped.
All this in just one day--I am pretty sleepy so I will leave it to mommy and daddy to fill you in on anything I missed. Goodnight everyone.

First Week at Home
We have had a great first week at home. Matt and I feel very blessed to have a baby that hardly ever is fussy and is a great sleeper:-) I know that this may all change at any point but we are enjoying it while it lasts.
Matt went back to work on Monday. That was hard for all of us. I missed his help and having him around and he missed being able to see Savannah all day. But it makes it extra special when he comes home :-) He is a proud daddy showing off pictures to everyone in his office and he must be glowing because they keep telling him he looks too rested to have a newborn baby.
Savannah had her first sick visit to the pediatrician on Saturday. Nothing serious just an eye infection. She has eye drops that make her eye look worse than it really is but other than that is doing great. We go back for her 2 week check up next Monday and we can't wait to see how much she has grown. I am not looking forward to the shots. I figure she will do better than me and it may be mommy that has to be bribed with a lollipop:-)
My parents have also been getting to know Savannah over the weekend. They came up on Saturday and are leaving on Wednesday morning. They had fun getting to know her, hold her, and start spoiling her:-) Matt and I enjoyed the meals and extra time to rest.
That is our first week so far. I will keep updating when I can. I know that many of you are itching for new pics (Grandpa Purdy--haha)

Bath Time Fun
Well as Matt says-"we didn't kill her but it wasn't pretty." Savannah is not a fan of being cold--kind of like her mom:-) We are in for a long winter...
We also went to the doctor today. Savannah is in great health. She has gained 4 oz since Monday--yeah! So she is now 6 lbs 6 oz. The doctor was pretty impressed with her. He said she is very alert for only being 4 days old and he was shocked that she can almost roll over on her own. We go back in 2 weeks and he thinks that she will have gained about 1 lb by her next appointment. We are very happy she is healthy and hope she continues to amaze us!
