Video

Thought everyone might like to see a little video of Savannah. Sorry its so short it is all that our digital camera will hold--guess we need to breakdown & get an actual video camera:-)

This was last week when she was enjoying her chicken & noodles. The last 30 hours have not been so delightful. I bought some "dairy free" cookies & was thrilled that I could actually have something that tasted semi-normal. Being the pessimist that I am--I thought it was too good to be true & checked the label for the 3rd time. Yep, I was right. In very fine print it stated contains traces of dairy. Well now Savannah & I are paying for that one tasty treat. Today she is doing better with eating & sleeping but her tummy is still rumbling:-(. Usually the first 48 hrs are the worst & then she starts to feel better so hopefully she is back to her normal self soon.

We got our computer fixed--yippy!! It is running much better so hopefully I can just find the time to post more. Maybe I need the Geek Squad to analyse and work on my brain so I work more efficiently:-)

Enjoy!

Lots of New Pics!

So we know it has been awhile. There is something wrong with our computer that makes it slower than molasses during a MN winter and I lost our camera for about a week--eek. Thankfully I found the camera in the bottom of the diaper bag and hopefully our computer will be getting fixed by the geek squad this week.

Matt celebrated his 1st Father's Day:-). Unfortunately, he took the red eye back from San Diego, CA which meant he got in at 5 am and then had to fly out early the next morning. Needless to say Daddy was very tired so no big festivities except for 2 naps. Hey I think that is the best way to celebrate:-).

Savannah had her 9 month well baby appointment at the end of June. She did great no tears at all just lots of giggles and waves to the doctor and nurses:-). She weighed 16 lbs 10 oz and was 29" long. The doctor said she is a very healthy & smart young lady and knock on wood we won't go back until her 1 yr well baby.

We finally found a sitter that both Savannah & Mommy love!! So Matt & I got a real date night!! It was nice to slowly eat dinner. Savannah just had a few tears but too be expected she is going through the ever fun stranger anxiety and seperation anxiety stage. But all in all it was a good night.

We had our first trip to the zoo. Savannah didn't really care about the animals. She was way more interested in all the people. I guess we will just have to wait until she is older for her to get as excited as we do at the zoo:-) Swim lessons have been going great--she is like a little fish. She loves to try to drink the water, eat the toys, & dunk her face in the water. Mommy and Daddy love it because it wears her out--we love loooooong naps:-).

Izzy had her doggie training boot camp:-). Matt & I are making a commitment to having a well behaved dog. She has been pretty unruly lately & needed a hardcore intervention. BUT as Matt & I found out--we have all the learning to do. It is going pretty well, not perfect but getting better. The trainer comes back at the end of the month and we are going to work on walking on a leash. So, hopefully we can go on a walk and not have Izzy pull us for the first 1/2 mile.

Darby & Jodi came up for the 4th of July weekend. It was great to have 4 days with them & celebrate the holiday together. Matt & Darby had a great time with Matt's new air rifle. The squirrels & bunnies in our neighborhood now have another reason other than Izzy to fear our yard:-). They also got to meet our friends that are in a lot of Savannah's swim pictures (Archana, Harrin, & Shayon). Darby, Jodi, & I went downtown for the fireworks. It was fun to watch the fireworks from the bridge and so them the sites downtown. As with any long weekend--it went too fast and we were sad to see them go.

Matt and I just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary! Crazy I know. We took a mini family vacation to Duluth, MN. It was great to get away for a long weekend & to see the sites in our state. Duluth is a great city--a little cold for my liking but very beautiful. We went on a 1 1/2 cruise of Lake Superior & learned a lot about the area. Like did you know the water temp. is 39* & that they were breaking ice on the lake until the last weekend in June!! And I bet you thought Lake Michigan was cold--haha. We also found out that Savannah loves straws--wait until you see the pictures:-).

Oh I almost forgot the best part of the last month--I got my braces on. I use "best" in the most sarcastic form of the word. So I have been adjusting to them & mentally preparing for the end of the month when I get my wisdom teeth out. What a fun summer?!

Okay well I think that is about it. Below is the link for our photos. Enjoy!

Summer Time

Warm weather is here and we are taking advantage of the beautiful, sunny days. Izzy, Savannah, and I love to go on walks. It is great because it Izzy comes back and is dead to the world for about 4 hours. I am tired but somehow it gives Savannah tons of energy. I guess Izzy and I are the only ones really walking so that makes sense:-) This past weekend we got Savannah her first pool. It is pretty cute. You can see in the link below. She loves to splash around & Izzy likes it because she has a BIG water bowl outside:-). Just wanted to send the pics of Savannah and her new pool. Enjoy!

P.S. Savannah has addd another word to her vocab--Kiss. But she says it as "tiss." It is sooo cute:-) She is up to to 7 words--yep she is going to be a talker:-)

8 months old

Savannah is 8 months old!! Wow!! Last year at this time we had just found out that we were expecting a baby girl. Pretty crazy. This month Savannah "graduated" from her ECFE Baby Class. She has also had her first boo-boos. She loves to try to climb and walk but just isn't there yet; which results in her head crashing into many surfaces. So we have got the looks at the store like "oh my gosh what did you do to your kid." If they only knew you can't keep this kid still:-)

Savannah is still teething--NOT FUN for anyone. You can see the bumps for 4 teeth on the bottom & 4 on the top. We are just praying that these come in quickly because they have been causing trouble for over a month. It is bad when your kid knows the orajel & Motrin bottle. This hasn't slowed down her appetite. She LOVES eating bananas, Ritz wheat crackers, watermelon, crescent rolls, & wheat toast. However, she likes sharing with Izzy.

Matt and I started renovating our guest bathroom last weekend. Right now it is completely gutted to the studs in some places and is done to the concrete floor. We are looking forward to hopefully getting some tiled laid within the next week or so but we will see. Everything is just a bit harder with a little one. We have got all of our flowers & veggies planted. Savannah loves to try to eat the blooms & she loves to smell the mint & basil:-)

Next month Savannah starts some new classes. Saturdays she is going to swim lessons with daddy and on Thursdays she has baby story time. The story time is a great class that our library provides for free in the summer for babies to elementary age kids--it will be great to meet some more parents in our community.

That is about it for now from MN. We will be in IN on a very brief visit for Katie & Drew's wedding so we will post some pics from that when we return. Enjoy the pictures & see some of you in about a weeek!

My 1st Mother's Day

This past weekend was my first official Mother's Day:-)!! It also has been exactly 1 year since we moved to MN. Wow--time has flown by. We had a great weekend just enjoying being at home. I am lucky to have a great husband that made the day very special. We had a great day of grilling, cleaning up the basement & windows, organizing for the neighborhood garage sale next weekend, and a long walk around one of the lakes by our house. I know most moms wouldn't get excited about cleaning on Mother's Day but I am an odd duck:-) It is nice to just relax at home and take it all in:-). Oh I almost forgot--Matt's present was getting our 1st family pics taken:-) So at the end of June we will have some professional pictures of the 4 of us!

Savannah is changing daily. She is talking away. She can say dada, baba, bob(we don't know where that came from), mama(just on Sat. good timing), and Izz(yes the dog came before mama-haha). It is very cute:-) She also loves giving kisses so sweet especially when she trys to give them to Izzy. Savannah is also pulling herself up and standing---yes we know what comes next. She loves to walk while holding onto your fingers and she can really move--we are in for a fun summer:-). She has reached a lot of milestones within the last 2 weeks--everyday we wake up we wonder what she will show us today. It is so exciting to see her grow and change but a little sad because it is all happening so fast.

Below is a link for some of the newest pics. We have had our first trip to the park and she loved the swings:-) Enjoy the pics and have a great week!!

Easter Time!

Savannah had a lot of visitors this past week. First Grandma Purdy came and then over the weekend Aunt Katie and Uncle Drew visited. Grandma Purdy gave us a much needed night out. It was great to be able to slowly eat dinner and not worry about a Savannah melt down:-) Drew helped Matt build a bench in the lower level. This is great because we have a lot of seating and storage for Savannah's toys. We have a few of Grandma Purdy's pictures(email her if you would like all of them--they are really great:-)) and pictures from Easter & the bench building project.

Savannah is growing like crazy. She is talking more and making her "B", "G", and "TH" sounds. She also is on the move. We wouldn't call it crawling but she is hopping around the house. Her legs are stronger than her arms so she just frog jumps to her destination:-) Very cute but makes our stomaches hurt. She is also drinking from a sippy cup, feeding herself (loves her sweet potato Gerber puffs), and can drink from a water bottle(her favorite thing to do right now).

Enjoy the pictures and we will see some of you on our trip back to IN on the 24th-26th.
